Mom Sues Frat, Says Son Was Hazed to Death - Local News - New York, NY | msnbc.com

The most recent unfortunate example that hazing is the most dangerous tradition of any organization, not just because of emotional, physical, and psychological risks to those participating, but because hazing directly threatens the purpose and values of an organization. We believe that the purpose of fraternities and sororities is to empower men and women to act on the highest levels. “With the death of my son, I find some comfort in knowing that this lawsuit may bring about changes in fraternities that will prevent other families from suffering as I have,” said Marie Lourdes Andre, who filed the lawsuit in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn against the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and its local chapter officers and members.
